What to Know About Kyoto Station
In Kyoto, travelers can hop on the Shinkansen high-speed train right at Kyoto's main station. Shinkansen platforms occupy the southern part of the building, which is called the Hachijo side since it faces the Hachijo street. As a rule, trains to Nagoya and Tokyo leave from platforms 11, 12 and train to Shin-Osaka and Hakata depart from platforms 13, 14.
